Presenter Michelle O’Bonsawin joined the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group as General Counsel in 2009 and in 2011, she accepted the additional role of the Freedom of Information Coordinator. She manages all of the Royal’s legal work and freedom of information requests.


Prior to joining the Royal, Michelle was in-house counsel at 
Canada Post Corporation. She is fluently bilingual and practices in the areas of mental health, labour, employment, human rights and privacy law. 


Michelle is a frequent guest speaker on issues of mental health, labour and privacy law. She regularly appears before the Consent and Capacity Board, the Ontario Review Board, various labour boards, the Canadian and Ontario Human Rights Tribunals, the Federal Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
 

Michelle is a graduate of the University 
of Ottawa French common law program and is called to the Ontario Bar.
